End of the Road

Just like everyone else, I’m sick and tired of all the lockout nonsense. I’ve officially hopped off the “hopeful” band wagon and moved onto the hopeless one. With the reality of not having NBA games this winter, you have to wonder if it’s the end of the road for the Big Three. It kills me to even touch on this subject, but both KG and Ray Allen aren’t signed on for the 2012-13 season. That has to set off an alarm for Celts fans. We’ve become the “small-window” team when it comes to competing for Banner #18, and that window is closing. It hurts to see the potential end to something that has been so great for the city of Boston. I guess now all you can do is keep your fingers crossed.

Celtics Game Day – Mock Season

After starting the weekend off right Friday night against the Clippers, the C’s went to visit the Cav’s for the second time in this early season. The boys looked a bit sluggish in the first half, most likely from the overnight travel and back to back games. Either way they manned up in the second and pulled through for the routine win.

Celtics Game Day – Mock Season

Celts are set to take on the Charlotte Bobcats at home tonight in what should be a good old fashion beat down. The struggling Cats haven’t seen victory yet in the young 2011-12 season while the red hot Celts are coming off a big W on the road, advancing to 3-0. Unless Charlotte pulls a rabbit out of the hat or suits MJ up for the game, I see this game being pretty much one-sided in favor of the hometown squad.

Celtics Game Day – Mock Season

I apologize for neglecting Saturday’s game vs. the Pacers in Indiana. I guess I was too caught up sulking in the continuous cycle of negativity that unravels after each CBA meeting alongside a less than stellar performance Sunday for the Pats. Nonetheless, the Celts come out of Indiana Saturday victorious to pick up their 3rd straight W on this early season before coming back home to take on good ole Mike’s Bobcats on Wednesday.

Celtics Game Day – Mock Season

The current lockout and looming cancellation of more games, potentially the entire 2011-12 NBA season, couldn’t be more frustrating. With the arrival of November, the reality has started to set in. Games are being missed. With that said, I’ll be doing a mock game day post for each day we don’t get a scheduled game.

Wednesday would have marked the Celts season/home opener vs. the Cavs. Sure they embarrassed us early last year after we satisfied their urge to shut down the Heat the night before, but let’s be serious, their holiday was short-lived. I’m sure this game would have been a hometown crowd pleaser to get the season started off on the right foot.

Tonight the Celts are set to face the Hawks at Philips Arena. After losing in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals and having 2 of 3 games taken by the Celts, I’m sure the Hawks will be looking for vengeance. With the Big 3 and Rondo at the helm though, it won’t be an easy task. Tonight’s matchup should make for a great game.

Boston Celtics CommUNITY Crew

Despite being 125 days into the NBA lockout, members of the Celtics organization aren’t slowing down. Last month the team, along with the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation kicked off the first CommUNITY Crew event, an initiative to help out different organizations, schools, etc. around the Greater Boston area. The first stop was the Mattahunt School and community center outside of Boston. Today, the team tackled veggies in the kitchen of the Women’s Lunch Place and stirred up excitement with a group of Veterans with the 2008 Championship trophy. I was fortunate enough to cut onions until my eyes bled and clean tables with Celts’ President Rich Gotham…It’s got its ups and downs.

In all seriousness, to learn more about the CommUNITY Crew and what you can do to be a part visit Celtics.com and find the Community link. Not only is it an opportunity for you to be a functioning member of society, but you might even get a chance to work side by side with Celtics’ legends.
